Recently I toured the largest Egyptian Arabian horse breeder in the US - Arabians Ltd. in Waco. It was definitely one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in Texas. They practically had to kick me out because I didn’t want to leave.
The white horse is Nadir, he’s their new star stud horse, and he is gorgeous - the most beautiful horse I’ve ever seen! At one point, a mare was brought out to encourage Nadir to show off for her. They told us that it was Nadir’s sister, but we shouldn’t tell him that!
The dark bay stallion is Alixir, and he stole the show - he is such a show off. They had him rearing up and running around. The best part was when they gave him his ball (it’s really old and beat up, but he loves it and won’t play with any other ball). He picked that ball up in his mouth and went nuts - running around, spinning around, rearing up, flinging the ball away and then running to get it. It was so fun to watch (and really hard to get a good photo of).
Later we went to go see some of the mares and new babies, but they were across a large field eating hay and didn’t come over. However, there were four yearling fillies (bottom photos) that saw us walking on the road and came right up to the fence. They all lined up perfectly - because they knew they were going to get carrots!
It was a really amazing afternoon. I’ve loved horses all my life so this was such a thrill to be so near these beautiful creatures. Arabians Ltd. offers tours of the farm for free - you just need to call in advance.
